Live Healthy America

Heading into my 3rd week of the 100-Day Challenge and I’m feeling great!

I had to hold back from being disappointed from this mornings weigh-in, I did gain back a pound from last week but as I thought about it I remembered that I dropped 5 the previous week (which people have commented that it was a bit too much) so I’m still averaging a 2 pound loss per week average which is probably very realistic.  I really need to drop 50 total, more would be a bonus but as I always profess.. just happy with the downward trend.

Looking at my activity report, I’m very happy.  I just went out and started walking and moving with no goals in mind.  As it turns out a flat-trail walk of 1-hour is very palatable to me and during poor weather, a half hour with the resistance band goes well too.

Oh.. and for those of you who caught my utter about the old ladies power-walking…  I’m sticking to doing my own solo walks at my own pace.. I’m enjoying my alone time.

That’s it for this week.. I’ll keep y’all posted!

Ahh.. some progress.  My LiveHealthyAmerica.orgdashboard shows a 1.98% weight loss during my first week which is right on par with my team.  I just wish I could say my health was on par with them as well, but that’s okay.  I’m seeing and feeling the progress finally.  Being the first time I’ve really set my mind towards fitness I have now learned that the first week is the most difficult hurdle.. very much like it was when I chose to quit smoking.  Apparantly 1-week is a psychological hurdle for most.

Through my travels on the ether I’ve met a few others that are on a similar quest towards a healthier self.  Most recent one being Jay Martinez who frequents the twitter and utterz circuit as well as maintains his own blog titled My Cup Runneth Over!

Jay has been closely follwing the Discovery Channel’s National Body Challenge and has been working with them to incorporate some of their programming into his blogging.

No matter what program you think is right for you, a key ingredient is to find other people that have similar goals and beginning at a similar level to share encouragement and motivation.

After not taking my daily walk for a while I finally set to one of our local greenways and my has the weather changed since I was last out!   The car was so nice and cozy, how could it be so cold outside?  I had remembered that I had put a coat in my car for emergancies so I figured I could just throw that on…  well.. let’s just say it appears that one of my cats got it and it’s going into the dumpter now.  So.. long story short I did have an extra sweatshirt with me, doubled it up and managed to get a little over a mile in anyhow.  Determination!!!

So.. apparently it’s getting a little cooler.. I think I see a trend here.. someone tell Mr. Gore please!  Anyways…  I took my walk today somewhere much warmer, my local Target.  I was talking to my virtual wife in thesimsonline.com about how I needed a new jacket and breifly described what I was looking for.  Wouldn’t you know in seconds she shot back a link to a jacket I loved!!!  (She’s a smart girl, my Paulina is.)  It’s a Mossimo Military Jacket in Black.  The fit was just right and no gaudy designer labels and lots of pockets for all my gadgets!  Of course since I was going to call this little adventure my power walk (yea I know, that’s a stretch) I had to go up and down every isle of the store (and I think security was following me), but while I was doing my laps I came across another item I’ve been wanting for a long time.. a walking stick!!
