02/18/2012 - New (experimental) addition to the network. If you play Mindcraft you can now join me by pointing your client to minecraft.paulmonaco.com 24/7. Currently it's limited to 10-simulteneus users. Kinda doubt I'd ever exceed that but if it takes off then we'll think about some upgrades.
02/05/2012 - Damn the rules, anarchy prevails! Everyone's always talking standards yet when it comes to commercial deployments those standards tend to get modified and stretched to the limits in the name of offering what the developers claim to be product improvements. Just do a search for cross-browser compatibility and you'll see what I mean!
That said, I'm done. Back in the day I learned HTML because I thought it was cool to have a way to simply put together content and deploy it on a global scale. It was a hobby, something I just enjoyed doing for fun. I wasn't getting paid for it nor did I care to. Though I have done my share of paid work on commercials websites (and will continue to do so) I'm taking back my domain and just having fun.
I will be posting to the main landing page and yet to be written "site index" page in basic HTML that should be readable (though not optimized) on just about any device capable of retrieving it. From this page I will branch out to semi-device-specific pages that should in general be compatible with many devices, but may not be. The devices I'll be targeting will be devices I personally own or use. When I no longer have access to these devices I will probably just stop writing for them and move on to whatever new toy has my attention at the moment.
For the handful of folks that from time to time actually hire me to work for them.. well, you're the boss! More compatibility requires more billable hours. Your wish is my command and I will offer my guidance based on current best practices in the industry. So basically, nothing changes there. Remember.. this domain is something I'm maintaining for my own pleasure and recreation.
