ticredbold.jpgI’ve always been a sucker for something new, especially if it’s candy and placed on the front counter at my morning stop convenient store where I get my coffee every morning.

I’ve never really been a huge tic-tac fan, actually not a big mint fan in general but seing that this tic tac was a new fruit flavor I figured I would have to give it a try.

Well.. bold is an understatement.  You get a HUGE fruity burst of flavor from the tiny little tic tac.  Good thing it’s 1.9 calorie per tic (or is it per tac?) … with 37 pieces in the zippo-sized flip-top box they only weigh in at 70 calories.  This is good because it all went into my mouth at one time… pretty good sugar buzz :-)

There’s some fun stuff at the official Tic-Tac Website.

wplogo.gifNothing to see here folks move along.  We just upgraded this site to the 2.3.1 release of wordpress which appears to be a security fix.  If you haven’t guess by now, I’m a huge wordpress fan!  Wordpress is the least aggrivating script I’ve ever worked with.  Rarely do I have issues with it and when they do creep in it’s usually my own fault.

In other news.. I’ve been working behind the scenes on PaulMonaco.tv - And as the name implies…  yup.. video.   As of late I’ve been a bit addicted to playing with low resolution video which mostly resides on my SingSnap and YouTube.  I decided to bring them together into their own domain and do some custom content as well.  Stay tuned!

For years I can remember wanting a remote controlled helicopter.  But “back then” it would cost thousands of dollars and you would need great skill to both assemble and fly the craft.  So you can imagine that when I found out you can have a palm sized remote controlled helicopter that you learn to fly in your own living room for under $30 that I just had to have it!

The hardest part to getting this puppy ready for flight was cutting it loose from the box!  6 AA batteries into the combination remote control/charger and 20-minutes of charging is all it takes.

Controls are very simple.  You have throttle and yaw control only, so don’t expect precision maneuvering like the marketing material implies but with little practice you’ll be buzzing around the room, hovering and landing “more or less” where you want.  It took me three charging cycles to get to the point where I could take off in the living room and land on the kitchen table.  I have no doubt I will have this fully mastered in a dozen more flights.

I personally can’t wait to bring it to the office and send it on recon missions :-)

It’s not yet Thanksgiving and we already had plowable snow!!!  This is great!!!  The changes in seasons is one of the reasons I would have a hard time ever leaving this region.  As it changes it reminds me of one of my favorite pieces of encouragement.

“No matter what the circumstances, you should never concede defeat. Never conclude that you’ve reached a dead end, that everything is finished. You possess a glorious future. And precisely because of that, you must persevere and study. Life is eternal. We need to focus on the two existences of the present and the future and not get caught up in the past. We must always have the spirit to begin anew ‘from this moment,’ to initiate a new struggle each day.” - Diasaku Ikeda

Well, it’s been a few months since Tommy and Tulip became part of my family.  As you may remember they both had a few issues to deal with.

Tulip is pretty much 100% adapted to being a three legged cat.  On occasion she has some difficulties in the litter-box but adjusting very well.  She’s learned this trick where she rests her stump on the side of the box, but once in a while the box tips over on her.  Poor thing!

Tommy is still in the process of adjusting to thyroid medication.  We may finally have the correct dosage and it appears he’s putting on a little weight.  He’s still only 8.5 lbs, but hopefully goin in the right direction.  He can be pretty sneaky about his pills.  Every so often I find one on the rug.. think he hides them under his tongue!  In the future I hope to save enough money to take him in for radiation treatment, then he can live drug free.
